8 Ways to Style Your Hijab

Hijab fashion is at its peak these days. The hijab, also known as the veil or headscarf, is often worn by Muslim women, but the fashion-forward looks aren’t limited to them. Although the hijab does have a significant role in Islam, it is also becoming more and more popular in western countries.

There are several ways to style a hijab to add that finishing touch to your outfit and to complement your face. How you style is all depends on the individual’s preference. In the Western world, the hijab can be styled in many different ways: wearing accessories on top of the hijab, using a colourful printed hijab or pairing your hijab with “westernized” clothes like jeans. Many girls wear it to add grace or to show an aspect of their personality.

Not sure where to start? Different hijab styles compliment different face shapes.

Round face: Try a Kuwait hijab style or a Turkish hijab style that will enhance the features. For those with round faces, avoid wrapping your hijab super-tight.

Long face: If you have a longer face, you can shorten the look of your face under caps and pair it with a longer hijab.

Rectangular face: For those with a rectangle face shape, make sure you lengthen your face with the style. Do this by keeping your forehead visible and bring the hijab a bit closer to your face from the side.
